Care kit (for linoleum)

FOR LINOLEUM

Linoleum is a 100 % natural product made from raw materials extracted from plants and trees. In addition to being noise-reducing, an advantage of linoleum products is that they are easy to clean and not stained by greasy fingers if cared for correctly. Like other materials, linoleum will acquire a patina from use and will eventually attain a beautiful and natural look.

Guidance
Cleaning: Apply linoleum soap using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wrung in warm water. Distribute the soap in an even, thin layer across the entire surface using massaging, circular motions, creating a light lather. We advise against the use of kitchen towels. Wash off excess soap using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wrung in warm water. Always wash entire surfaces to avoid discolouration.
Treatment: Apply linoleum soap using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wrung in warm water. Distribute the soap in an even, thin layer across the entire surface using massaging, circular motions, creating a light lather. We advise against the use of kitchen towels. Leave the soap to “soak in” for approximately 5 minutes and wash off excess soap using a clean, soft, lint-free cloth, wrung in warm water. We recommend treating the surface of the linoleum at least 4-6 times every year or when used more intensively. Always wash entire surfaces to avoid discolouration.

Tips

  • Linoleum does not tolerate degreasing cleaning agents such as detergent, Ajax, and the like.
  • Never use powerful chemicals, alcohol, chlorine, ammonia, benzine, and the like, as this may damage the surface of linoleum.
  • Always protect linoleum from direct sunlight.
  • Be aware that spilled liquids may cause discolouration if they are not immediately removed.
  • Linoleum cannot not withstand strong heat – therefore, avoid placing hot objects directly on your linoleum-topped table.
